The beauty of IRONCAD sheet metal design.

Sheet metal design is an essential process in the manufacturing industry and IRONCAD™ has revolutionized the sheet metal design process, making it more efficient, accurate, and cost-effective.

Here are some ways 3D CAD design improves the process of sheet metal design:

·  Accurate and precise design: With IRONCAD™ design software, engineers can create highly detailed and accurate designs of sheet metal products, including complex shapes and geometries. The software allows them to create 3D models of the product, which can be viewed from different angles, zoomed in and out, and rotated to examine every detail. This level of accuracy and precision ensures that the design meets the required specifications and standards.

·   Faster design iterations: In traditional sheet metal design, engineers would create a physical prototype, test it, and then make changes as necessary. This process can be time-consuming and costly, especially if the prototype needs to be scrapped and a new one created. With IRONCAD™ , engineers can quickly create and modify designs on the computer, test them virtually, and make changes as necessary. This results in faster design iterations and a shorter time to market.

·  Better collaboration and communication: IRONCAD™ design software allows engineers and designers to collaborate more effectively and communicate their ideas more clearly. They can share 3D models and drawings with colleagues, clients, and vendors, allowing them to see the design from every angle and provide feedback. This improves the overall design quality and reduces the likelihood of errors and miscommunications.

·  Improved manufacturing efficiency: Once the sheet metal design is complete, IRONCAD™ can generate detailed manufacturing drawings and instructions. This ensures that the manufacturing process is efficient and accurate, reducing the likelihood of errors and rework.

·  Enhanced visualization and simulation: IRONCAD™ can simulate the manufacturing process, allowing engineers to identify potential problems before they occur. They can also visualize how the sheet metal product will look and function in real life, allowing them to make design improvements and optimizations.

In conclusion, IRONCAD™ has revolutionized the sheet metal design process, making it faster, more accurate, and more cost-effective. It has enabled engineers and designers to create highly detailed and precise designs, collaborate more effectively, improve manufacturing efficiency, and enhance visualization and simulation. As technology continues to advance, we can expect IRONCAD™ to play an increasingly important role in the manufacturing industry.

See What's New in IronCAD 2023 that may not have been documented.

On the IronCAD Customer Community is a thread outlining some of the cool new features in IRONCAD 2023 that may not have been outlined in any  released documentation.

One of them we think is worth highlighting is "Direct access to 2D Sketch and 3D Curve commands". This allows you to go directly into sketch mode without having to setup a drawing plane.

Magnacad discontinues FLEX-Pay Program.

We have decided to discontinue the FLEX-Pay program for IronCAD support contracts. The decision was primarily based on customer feedback. While allowing for incremental payments and periodic reminders for support services seemed like a great idea, it only proved we made a mistake. Alas, were human.

Effective March 1st, 2023 any support customers that have renewed their support contracts on or after this date WILL NOT be receiving an immediate invoice for the following year. We are reverting back to the standard policy of sending invoices 30-days prior to expiration date.

Customers that are already in the FLEX-Pay program for this year you have two options;
  • Do nothing and simply allow the invoice to continue and use FLEX-Pay option if desired until the next renewal period or
  • Contact us to remove the invoice from the FLEX-Pay system and receive an invoice 30-days prior to expiration.
NOTE: Access to your client portal is not affected by this change. You can still use it as required.

IRONCAD 2023 SP #1 Hotfix #1 Released.
